Missing Shadows

The work 'Missing Shadows' consists of three different pieces. On each piece there is a different part of a larger map, that shows the treelines surrounding the farmland in Stroe. The light pink shows the maps from 1915, whereas the red lines are from 2022. Comparing the two you will see a lot of the trees have disappeared. Farmers cut the once very imported border, so their crops grow faster without the shadows falling upon them. Removing the trees resulted also in a reduction of biodiversity, the very thing that keeps the land in balance.
